Passionately Curious and Passionately Playful!

This week, two of our students brought in some chunks of ice for an experiment we talked about doing. The children were curious about how ice melted and how salt melted it..so together we co-planned an experiment to see which type of salt would melt the ice the fastest...OR if no salt at all would effect how fast the ice melted. First, we made a prediction and used our SmartBoard to record it:
Then, we made signs for our buckets and put out a bowl of the salt to touch:
 It turned out that the Outside Salt melted the ice the fastest!!

We also made Stained glass inspired tissue paper mittens for our window:
After watching a few YouTube videos on making letters with Playdough, we tried to make some of our own:

We had a fantastic Family Literacy Day with or parents! Thank you so much to those of you who join us as we spent some time looking at books and reading with each other!
We has a VERY special surprise visitor on Friday afternoon. Ms. Firoz brought in her pet parrot TuTu!! We were so excited to see it and ask her questions about it:
