"To the world you may be just one person, but to one persn you may be the world."

As we approach Valentine's Day and discuss all of the many important attributes of love and the meaning behind it, we apply as much of our learning to our everyday classroom experience as possible. After reading the book 'Hug Machine' we discussed why people give hugs and then tried it out for ourselves. Some of us knowing that it represented one of the many forms of love, and others discovering that sometimes hugs make us feel better and show our friends that we simply care about them.
We displayed this on one of our walls to remind us that we can all be hug machines!

One of our goals this month (and always.. really).. is to spread LOVE!
Here are some of the great creations we made this week:
The children were inspired to make puppets one day when we had made a suggestion to add their puppets to their building they were making.. so, one thing led to another.. and suddenly many of them were interested in making puppets, using a popsicle stick to hold them. We brought out our puppet show stand and they LOVED it.. taking turns and watching patiently as their friends came up with a re-enactment.
Another area they created and were deeply interested in was their airplanes on the carpet. They arranged the chairs in a way that felt like they were sitting in an airplane!
We have also been working on a special gift for you.. these gifts will be going home on Thursday! WE cant wait for you to see them... but in the meantime, here is a sneak peek:

Have a very happy and beautiful Valentine's week!

Please don't forget to send your child with their homemade Valentine's Day Project on Monday!
We are excited to see what they have prepared :o)
