I came across this and absolutely love it. It has been very applicable in our classroom.
The weather has finally started to warm up and the children have been asking about Nature walks, so we went for our first one of the season last week. We walked around the school, noticing the birds chirping, the grass beginning to grow and the fresh air.

This has become our favourite spot to take pictures! "Look! there is an airplane in the sky!"
We love nature walks!!
Here is another one of our favourite spots. The hill, we run up and down!
Ready, Set, GO!
While they were having so much fun, we were mindfully taking pictures of things around our school to use for a scavenger hunt. We took them outside again today, only this time they had a mission to accomplish. they had to try to find each object either on their own or with a partner. They succeeded and were able to find everything on the list of two pages!
Here we go.. the hunt is on!
We have been talking about composting, which led up to a discussion about worms and where they live, what they do, and how useful they are. We are making a 'Wormworld Underground' to show our learning:
Some are painting with brushes, and other are painting with sponges:
We are adding some 'fun facts' that we have learned from reading the books 'Diary of a worm' and a story about an Earthworms life:
We learned that worms make tunnels underground to let in air which is good for the soil to breathe.
Our next plan is to make cocoons and eggs to show how worms are born.
We are also going to make a little snack tomorrow called 'worms in dirt.' The best part is it's edible!!
As we approach Earth Day, we decided to talk about the ways that we can all care for and save the Earth. We did a little Art activity that involved painting coffee filters with watercolour and then we wrote one way we could do our part. They turned out looking great!
The finished product will look a little like this:
We have been patiently waiting for our chicks to hatch and are counting down every day. we only have two more days to go!!! Yay! We cannot wait to meet them and give them all names!
Enjoy the sunny days ahead!
