Special Visitor...

We had a VERY special visitor yesterday who graced us with her presence!!!
The kids were sooo so excited to see her and so was I! :)
We missed her and were so happy to get to spend some time with her.

We were also really lucky that the rain held out today for our Play Day!

We are hoping for some nicer weather tomorrow as we begin to say good bye to our friends for the summer!

Author's Day!

Thank you so much to all of the parents who came out for author's day. We understand that life is busy and we very much appreciate you taking the time to attend this event at our school.
It was nice to be able to spend the afternoon in the sunshine, sharing our favourite books with each other!

 We had a lovely day!
Just a reminder that Play Day is on Tuesday and we will have a little picnic party outside if the weather is nice on Wednesday. We usually bring our snacks outside on the hill and go to the park for recess.

Hope you are having a fabulous weekend!

The end of the year has approached us...

Thank you so very much for coming out today to watch your child perform at our year end 'celebration of learning' concert!!
We hope you enjoyed it!

We are really going to miss our SK's.. :(
It has been an amazing year and we are very proud of all of our students and have enjoyed watching them grow. They have taught us so much!
We wish you and your family a restful, fun-filled summer!
We cannot wait to see you again in September!! :)

Love Always,
Ms. Gikov

Symmetry...

Here is a fun fact for you: When a bald eagle looses a father, it will automatically shed the same feather on it's other side to maintain balance.

We have been exploring the concept and of symmetry and playing with the idea of creating things that are symmetrical.
Take a look at some of the neat things we have been working on:
This game involves one player at a time placing a pattern block on their side. The other player must then place a pattern block on their side to show a mirror image.
We have already celebrated many birthdays this month.
For one, one of our mom was generous enough to buy fruit cups for the entire class. Here are some pictures of the children enjoying theirs:
Another one of our friends brought in chalk for our class:
We would like to sincerely thank you for contributing to our classroom community and making school so much fun with these very thoughtful acts of kindness.

Can you believe that as of today we officially have 2 more weeks of school left!!
