"Creativity is Intelligence having fun.." -Albert Einstein

We used one of our Gym periods this week to go play at the park. the weather was so beautiful, we wanted to make the best of it!

This week, as we started to settle in and engage in different activities, we decided to work with water colour again.
This time we introduced masking tape and showed the students an example of what happens when you paint over it and then peel it off.
They thought it was purely Magic!
This lead us to exploring how we could make letters using the tape and this is what happened...

This wouldn't have turned out the same on regular paper, so we used special watercolour paper.

We also looked at speech bubbles and talked about what they represent. As you can see, we have included them as part of the literacy piece to this activity.
The students will be writing "Hi, my name is_______ and I like________________."
as a simple introduction to sharing their interests with us.

we will continue to work on these next week!

There was a lot of math talk happening outside on recesses with Mrs. Ansari. The children were eager to measure themselves and make high towers using the softener cups to stack.

Creating things using loose parts is one of the many things we love to see in our class!

One of our SK's brought us in this lovely picture frame that he made using shells he collected from the beach over the summer. We absolutely LOVE it!
And then he brought me in this cute little note :o)
Hope you are enjoying the weekend, even though the weather is gloomy and rainy..
these days make perfect ones for cuddling up and watching movies or reading a good book.

See you on Monday!!
