Happy Friday! We have officially reached over 1000 views! :)

Since we lOVE making bracelets and necklaces so much with our rainbow colours, we have decided to use the branch we found outside for making wishes and hanging our necklaces on.

Mr. Fletcher gave our Kindergarten classes a lot of fun toys to play with outside, so we thought it would be a great idea to write him Thank you cards to express our appreciation.

We have been so fascinated with leaves that we have been collecting them and bringing them into class. We have placed pictures of leaves from different trees that the children can match the leaves they find to. We talked about the characteristics of leaves and about how leaves come in all different shapes, colours and sizes.

We have been looking at alphabet books and learning about words that start with the same letter. Here is a picture of a yacht that one of the children drew and copied. It turned out fantastic!

At our building centre, we have come up with different challenges for the children to try to make. They have succeeded at meeting the challenge and have even made their own structures and towers!

*Just a reminder: Monday is WACKY hair/hat day!!*

Life is about using the WHOLE box of crayons! -RuPaul

Last week we re-organized our Art shelf and materials. We sorted by colour and this is what we came up with. So far, the children in our class have taken really good care of all of the materials and enjoy using them.

We also went on a nature walk on Friday and came back with this...

We have decided to leave it against our window until we find a better spot for it. The children thought of all kinds of ideas about what we could use it for. Some of them suggested that it could be a Christmas tree, some suggested that we hang things off of it. We will soon find a creative use for our branch.

Ms. Buckworth has been working hard to prepare for an exciting Art class tomorrow. She has been cutting out these templates four our class to decorate. We are looking forward to seeing how they turn out!

Today we did a little bit of measuring. We wanted to see how tall everyone was. We had some special helpers who wanted to be a part of the measuring process. We haven't finished yet, but we will continue on Thursday. We even made a sign that says, 'We're growin!'
We were very lucky to have Mrs. Ansari teach us how to make playdough today! It was very fascinating to see who could guess how it was made and with what ingredients. The children who worked with her each took a turn measuring out the ingredients needed.

"If a child can't learn the way we teach, maybe we should teach the way they learn." - Ignacio Estrada

This past week we continued making signs for our classroom. We co-constructed the alphabet using loose parts and materials.

And this is our co-constructed word wall so far! We have already started to add our names onto it.

This is a picture of our co-constructed numbers from 1-8. We have chosen to represent each number in three different ways.

Over the past two days this is what has happened...

Our beautiful flowers have started to change colour!!!

Thank you so much to all of the parents who have supported our curiosities and passion for bringing in beautiful stuff from home. The children loved to share what they brought in and sort out what we collected into baking trays!

We chose a material we liked to decorate our alphabet letters with and this is how it turned out!

Today, we made rainbows in Art with Ms. Buckworth and hung them up on our wall. They turned out great!! Everyone did a fantastic job colouring and gluing their rainbow together!

One of the students in our school donated this game to our classroom.
It's called 'Jumpin' Monkeys' and the children had a lot of fun playing with it.

One of our students brought these cups in from home. These two children built many different structures with them.

We worked very hard today to make number signs for our classroom! So far, we have expressed three different ways to show each number up to 10!

The girls made some playdough cakes and goodies for us today and even brought it to us on a tray!

We found a new place for our Family Tree. It is filling up quite fast! Thank you to all the supportive parents who took the time to send a picture in from home. We couldn't have made this without you!

On the way out, she took the time to explain what she had made. It sounded very yummy!!
