This weeks experiment...

The children in our class have shown a great interest in rainbows and colours. So, we thought.. what better way to explore their interests then to do an experiment with food colouring and flowers. We brought carnations into class today and put each stem into a mix of water and food colouring. We learned two new words today: "experiment" and "prediction". The children predicted that the flowers would turn the colour of the water. We explored primary and secondary colours through mixing blue and red to get purple and mixing blue and yellow to get orange. The children LOVED this!

We are patiently waiting now to see what happens...

Colours of the rainbow!!! :o)

We got some new attire for our house center! New cooking hats and aprons.
Looking for a mess to clean up!
