"The greatest gift we can give children are the roots of responsibility and the wings of independence."

We have spent the past week focusing on patterning, providing many different ways and opportunities for children to explore and create different patterns using some of the following materials to show their understanding:

We put out some new puzzles and watched as the children worked together to complete them!
We also built many different structures:
We brought in some new blackboards and the girls thought it would be a good idea to make DO NOT BREAK signs to save our building, so they made us some new signs:
We had some police officers in our class this week with self-made uniforms:
And the next day a doctor with a stethoscope and tools in his pocket!! How CREATIVE!

Some of the children wanted to draw a map, so we looked at different kinds of treasure maps to get ideas and then they made their own:
While others were enjoying their dinner, we painted our mailbox red for our Christmas house. Next week we are going to build a handle for it and decorate it to look as if it were real!
Today was the first day of snow fall! Can you believe it?! It finally feels like Winter, therefore we will be starting to decorate our room with our Winter decorations!

We have been preparing a letter for you to let you know what will be coming up in the next few weeks, so stay tuned for some exciting news!
